Check-In and Check-out Policy

Check-In is at 3:00 pm but we are flexible and collaborate with guests who arrive earlier by receiving their luggage. The check-out time is 12:00 pm and to expedite check-out it is suggested to leave the accounts canceled from the night before.

Location and Transportation

Karakali Boutique Hotel is located in front of the Magdalena River, on the Albarrada (the pedestrian boardwalk), a few meters from the colonial square of San Francisco.

The address is Carrera 1 # 19 - 101, Mompox, Bolívar.

Means to get to the hotel

Being in Mompox, Bolivar:

The cars arrive at the corner of the Plaza San Francisco with the Albarrada, where the hotel staff collects the luggage and guides the guest to the allied parking lot. From there you walk a few meters to the hotel entrance.

If you arrive by air or land, you can take a Mototaxi and ask it to take you to the corner of Albarrada and Plaza San Francisco.

By river you can reach the Mompox pier, located in front of Plaza San Francisco, and walk a few meters to reach Karakalí Boutique Hotel.

Parking

As it is privilegedly located in front of the Magdalena River, in the historic center, the entry of vehicles is not allowed. Guests can park their vehicles and motorcycles in nearby public parking lots, with permanent surveillance.

Nearest airports

Mompox has the San Bernardo airport that allows the arrival of commercial and private flights. Currently, it operates a weekly EasyFly flight, from Medellín, on Thursdays and Sundays. The airport is approximately 7 minutes by car from the hotel.

Other airports close to Mompox are Corozal (Sincelejo), approximately three hours away.

There is also the Valledupar airport, 3 hours and 40 minutes approx.

Karakali can coordinate ground transportation from both airports. Valledupar airport has a car rental service. Another option to arrive in Mompox is through the airports of Cartagena, Montería and Barranquilla and then travel by land with a duration of approximately five hours.

Day trips

The facilities and services of Karakali Boutique Hotel are for the exclusive use of guests. Therefore, days are not offered for the use of the pool and social areas.

Events

In advance, Karakalí Boutique Hotel can organize any type of event in the hotel facilities, adapting to the needs of the guests. When performing marriages it is required to reserve the entire hotel to guarantee the privacy that such an important event requires.

Karakalí is ideal for organizing events due to the breadth and versatility of its social spaces: swimming pool with waterfall, Jacuzzi and gardens surrounded by palm trees and flowers; terrace with a privileged view of four bell towers of colonial churches and ideal to enjoy sunsets and nights full of stars; interior garden with cistern, colonial forge and permanent visiting hummingbirds; river view library; industrial kitchen attached to the bar; separate social toilets for men and women; terrace at the entrance of the Hotel surrounded by trees, birds and facing the river. The foregoing backed by a robust power plant to supply energy to the entire hotel if necessary.

Climate

Karakali Boutique Hotel is very cool due to the construction materials, the height of the ceilings, the vegetation in the two patios and the air current that comes from the Magdalena River. Visitors are recommended to take advantage of the cool hours early in the morning or in the afternoon for walks and tours of this cultural heritage.

The climate in Mompox varies according to the time of year. The coolest season is between September and November, with October being the coldest month of the year in Mompox, with an average minimum temperature of 24 °C and a maximum of 31 °C. The hot season is recorded from the end of January to March, with a minimum temperature of 26 °C and a maximum of 36 °C.
